Rally
Saturday at 2 pm
Rancho Main Training Center with Donna Mullin
This monthly class may not be full. Call the office to see class availability.
The monthly Rally I class will focus on developing the dog-handler teamwork connection. Focus will be on establishing the dog’s attention to handler. Students will also learn how to properly perform each Novice Rally sign/exercise; how the sign/exercise is scored; and the steps required to train each skill or behavior.
Outdoor Adventures

Rancho Auxiliary Building with Johnna Holland
The weather is cooler now and everyone is excited to experience nature with their dogs. Learn how to go out in public with a well-behaved dog and enjoy each other’s company. No more fear of embarrassment that your dog will jump upon people or drag you around on the leash. Class will choose from a number of dog friendly locations to train out in public away from the sterile environment of a classroom. Students can choose from hikes in the mountains to walking around a busy shopping center.
Puppy Social Hour
Saturday 3/15/2025 – 3/15/2025 at 12:30 pm
Rancho Main Training Center with Johnna Holland
This class is for puppies 6 months and younger. We will introduce puppies to various surfaces, sounds, and other noises they might encounter as they grow up. The trainer is happy to answer any puppy questions you may have during the social.

TRICK DOG DATE NIGHT
Saturday 3/15/2025, two sessions available at 5pm and 7pm

The AKC “Trick Dog” is a new title event sponsored by AKC. Each dog will perform 10 tricks of their choice to earn a Novice Title. Once the dog has earned a Novice Title, they may advance to Intermediate, Advanced, and Trick Dog Performer. Dogs should know basic obedience commands. If the dog has earned a CGC title, they will only need five tricks to earn their Novice Title in this class.

If you go to the BHA site and the trial is “closed,” you may still enter (email your form) and be placed on a waiting list.

The March 29 Rattlesnake Avoidance Sessions will be held at SmartyPaws Canine Coaching, 4161 N. Rancho Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89130. MARCH NADAC TRIAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON RUN ORDER
Both the March and April premiums are up at NADAC.
The March trial will run two rings at the same time. The trial will begin with Elite in one ring and the other ring will start with Open and Novice. Make sure you arrive early.

DESERT HEAT IS ON THE WAY
Never leave pets unattended inside a hot car, even for a few minutes. Dogs can suffer from heatstroke in as little as 15 minutes. Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, rapid heart rate, vomiting, and lethargy. Dogs with health problems, dense coats, or short snouts are more at risk. If you suspect heatstroke, move your dog to a cooler place, offer water, and contact a veterinarian.
Dr. Carter is at SmartyPaws all day Thursday in the auxiliary building from 8am to 6:30pm. Chiropractic care can make a difference in animals of all sizes. Nail Trims are cash only. The upcoming nail trims will be and March 13, March 27 and April10 from 10:30am – 11:30am. Please call (702) 396-8501 or (702) 267-6001 when you arrive to get in the que; stay in your car we will come out to get your dog. $10 and up per dog.
