Boot Camp Barn Hunt Fun
Would your dog enjoy trying Barn Hunt while they’re at boot camp?
We’re considering offering a fun Barn Hunt class exclusively for our boot camp clients, and we’d love to know if this is something you’d be interested in!

Boot Camp Treadmill Action
Boot camp includes training in addition to playtime. Bring your dog to spend the day with our trainers in a safe, fun environment!
Our boot camp is open Monday – Friday from 7am to 5:45pm

Basic Obedience 3 And Leash Work
Level 3 Obedience working on automatic sits. Dogs need to learn to automatically sit with the owner stops. This is a great skill for future service dogs!

We have had so much interest in Rally, that our first few classes filled right up. We are planning future classes. If you are interested in a six-week class to learn Rally, email us to get on the sign-up list
You can also let us know if you’re interested in private Rally lessons, these are $50 per 30-minute session.
AKC Trick Dog: Two Levels Offered
On Monday, January 11, 2027, we are offering an Intermediate Trick Dog class at 7:30pm The Novice Trick Dog level is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 7:30pm.
In each class the dogs will perform 10 tricks of their choice to earn a novice or intermediate title. Once the dog has earned the title, it may advance to the next trick dog level. Dogs should already know basic obedience commands.
These classes are fun and mentally stimulating, both you and your dog will enjoy the classes.

Thanksgiving And Holiday Rules
Safe Thanksgiving foods for dogs (in moderation)
🐾 Plain turkey: Offer a small piece of boneless, skinless, unseasoned white meat.
🐾 Veggies: Share plain, steamed green beans, carrots, or plain sweet potatoes (without butter, sugar, onions, or marshmallows).
🐾 Pumpkin: Give a spoonful of 100% pure, unsweetened canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling). This is a great idea anytime.
Foods to strictly avoid
🐾 Bones and skin: Cooked turkey bones splinter easily and cause choking or internal damage; fatty skin can trigger pancreatitis (a painful inflammation of the pancreas).
🐾 Onions, garlic, and chives: These are toxic to dogs and can damage red blood cells or cause anemia.
🐾 Rich dishes: Avoid stuffing, gravy, casseroles, and mashed potatoes loaded with butter or cream.
🐾 Sweets and treats: Keep chocolate, xylitol (artificial sweetener), grapes, raisins, alcohol, and raw yeast dough far out of reach.
Check out our braided lamb collagen chews. Ask for them in the morning when you drop your dog off at boot camp and we will get them ready, so you can take them with you when you pick up your dog.
The six-inch braid is only $4 or take three braids for $11.
Indoor Barn Hunt Classes On Calendar
Dogs love using their noses! Their sense of smell far surpasses ours. Barn Hunt is a sport that’s growing rapidly in popularity and isn’t particularly physically demanding for us humans.
The sport was created to let dogs use their sense of smell in an enclosed, safe environment. It’s a team sport in which dogs sniff out a rat (which is NEVER harmed) hidden in straw. Dogs also get to jump on straw bales and go through tunnels we create for them.
To make all this fun even better, you and your dog can earn titles at trials!
Drop-in Barn Hunt classes have been added to the calendar. The drop-in fee is $45. Private lessons are also available for $50 per 30-minute session.

KinderPuppy Classes
For puppies up to six months old
classes coming up in December
Give your puppy the best start with our KinderPuppy class! This class lays the foundation for your pup to become a well-mannered companion both at home and in public — including visits to the groomer or vet.
Don’t bring your puppy to the first class, bring your shot records.
What your puppy will learn:
- Basic commands: sit, down, come, stay
- Leash walking, puppy retrieves, stand for exam
- Petting by strangers, recall games, and more!
Important: Attendance at the first two classes is required.
We’ll also cover essential topics like:
- House training and crate training
- Chewing, biting, and jumping
- Handling and socializing
- Addressing individual family/puppy needs

Puppy Social Hour Makes A Big Difference
Something else we can’t recommend enough is the Puppy Social Hour. This is just a one hour social meeting. We will introduce puppies to various surfaces, sounds, and other noises they might encounter as they grow up. We offer these social hours usually once a month. There is a social hour scheduled on December 5. These classes are so good for puppies. You can sign-up right on the calendar.

Dr. Carter is at SmartyPaws all day Thursday he will be in the new auxiliary building from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The suite right next door to the old place at 4175 N. Nail Trims Are Cash Only
The upcoming nail trim days will be November 13 and December 4 from 10:30-11:30am. When you arrive stop at the curb by the door and we will get you in the que; after we get you on the que then you can go ahead and park your car we will come out to get your dog. $10 and up per dog.
