FAQ

Where are you located?
SmartyPaws is located at 4161 N. Rancho Dr Suite #120. Las Vegas, NV 89130. If you’re mailing a check, please send it here.

Do I need an appointment to come in?
No appointment or evaluation is necessary before starting a class with the exception of service dog classes. (See our Service Dog Training page for more information.) If you wish to see our facility, please call the office first as it might sometimes be closed randomly for training sessions with our furry friends. Thank you for your patience. If you do not reach us please leave a voicemail and someone will call you back.

What forms of payment does SmartyPaws accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, cash, and checks. Please note, there is a 3.5% fee for all credit and debit transactions used to pay for classes, day care, and boot camp. However, if you wish to pay by cash, check or Zelle, there are NO fees associated with those forms of payment. The email to pay by Zelle is smartypawslv@gmail.com.

Does my dog need all of its shots before coming to SmartyPaws?
Updated shots and a negative fecal test that is at least six months recent are required for all classes, day care and boot camp on the first day. Also, any dogs one year or older must have a current DHPP vaccine (done every one to three years depending on your vet’s protocols). And a rabies vaccination (done according to state law). Please give us a call if you have any questions about our vaccine policy.

While we strive to keep everyone healthy, there are limitations to the bordetella vaccine and fecal checks. With Bordetella, your dog can still get the disease, just a milder case. Typically, bordetella is not life threatening. When a fecal exam is performed, they are only looking at a small amount of the stool sample under the microscope, so a negative fecal does not guarantee your dog, or others in your class, are truly negative.

Where do the classes take place?
Day care, boot camp, and most of our classes take place in our climate-controlled facility featuring plenty of A/C and dog friendly rubber matted flooring. Some classes can be held outdoors depending on the time of year, and/or at private residences and will be noted in the class description.

What should I bring with me on the first day of class?
For KinderPuppy and basic obedience courses no dogs on the first day of class. For all of our other courses please bring your dog on a regular four to six-foot leash. No retractable leashes please. On the first day of class your trainer will ask for a copy of your shot records. Your dog needs to be updated on all shots (bordetella, distemper, parvo, & rabies) and have a negative fecal test that is at least 6 months recent. Also, bring some small bite treats for your dog!

Do you offer private training sessions?
Yes! Private training sessions are available for $150/hour, or four private sessions for $500.

Is day care for my dog available all week?
The Day Care and Boot Camp is open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm. Our Day Care and Boot Camp clients can drop off and pick up at curbside. When coming in and leaving the building between classes try not to crowd the door.

What is your cancellation policy?
You must cancel at least 72 hours in advance of the class starting to receive a refund. Due to waiting lists and limited slots in each class if you cancel with less than 72 hours notice, we can’t offer a refund. We may be able to give you credit for a future class though.

What is DogBizPro?
