WE WILL BE CLOSED LABOR DAY

We Added A Six-Week Rally Class
We have had so much interest in Rally, that our first class filled right up. We are planning future classes. If you are interested in a six week class to learn Rally, email us to get on the sign-up list HERE.
This class is to introduce people to the sport of AKC Rally. Rally is a sport that combines obedience skills and teamwork. The handler and dog navigate a course of signs, performing a different skill at each station. The class will be geared towards people who eventually want to compete with their dogs, but you are still welcome to join even if that is not your goal.
You will get the most out of this class if your dog already has basic obedience skills like heel, sit, down, and stay.
September 11th is a single drop in class and the 6 week session starts September 25th. We will post the September 11th drop-in class on the calendar.
Depending on the skill level/needs of the class, weeks 2- 4 may not have courses set up. Things may be broken down in to stations or a few signs together.
September 25th Week 1: explain the sport of rally, how to walk a course, where to perform signs. Work on heel, right, left and about turns and front
October 2nd Week 2: work on finish right, finish left, sit and down in heel position, 360 (right and left), continue heel work
October 9th Week 3: work on 270 (right and left), learn the difference in the about turn signs, introduce the call front signs, continue heel work
October 16th Week 4: cone work! Will introduce and practice the novice signs that involve cones (figure 8, serpentines and spirals)
November 6th Week 5: will put it all together and set up either a full course or a half course depending on how everyone is doing
November 13th Week 6: full course practice and bring your questions/specific things you need or want help with.

SmartyPaws Boot Camp Training
Boot Camp is training in addition to playtime. Bring your dog to spend the day with our trainers in a safe, fun environment!
Stormi loves to give me ALL the sass. She demands to get snacks for free….that’s not how this works miss maāam š I do love training the huskies though.
— Julie
Something I donāt post a lot, mostly because its hard to record at boot camp, is how we work on recall. So here we have brothers Brodie and Oliver. Both of them are very high energy dogs who get over excited about different things. Having a solid recall is important. I also try to make sure they come when THEY are called and not their brother. The recall always finishes with a sit as well. With the help of my boot camp assistant Angel, we distract the dogs and call them out of the distraction…essentially, ping ponging the dogs between us. They get lots of treats for following through. These boys are so fun to train.

Basic Obedience 3 And Tuck Diversity
“Level 3 working on Tuck diversity. Dogs need to learn to tuck under an item and stay while their owners walk away. This is a great skill for future SDs!”

Indoor Barn Hunt Classes On Calendar
Dogs love using their noses! They have a sense of smell that far surpasses ours. Barn Hunt is a sport that is quickly growing in popularity and not that physically demanding for us humans. It was created to let our dogs use their sense of smell in an enclosed, safe environment. Itās a team sport where the dog gets to sniff out a rat (which is NEVER harmed) hidden in straw. The dogs also get to jump on the straw bales and go through tunnels we create for them. And to make all this fun stuff even better, you and your dog can earn titles at trials!
Drop-in classes for Barn Hunt have been added to the calendar, the drop-in fee is $45. Private lessons are now available also. You can sign up online using the calendar or email us to get signed up. Privates are $50 for 30 minutes. Email us directly.
Please check our website and calendar for full details on classes.
