I grew up with animals, and now currently have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a bunch of rats that keep me busy and entertained. I have been working with dogs, cats, fish and small animals for over 10 years in a variety of functions from trainer to shelter volunteer, from foster parent to transporter. After I became a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy, I started to offer a variety of marker-based dog training ranging from clicker basics to family manners to behavior modification. At SmartyPaws, I primarily teach Barn Hunt, a fairly new sport that opens up the world of nose work and searching for rats to all dogs.

My goal is to ensure that owners and/or handlers lear to observe and communiacte with their animal effectively to increase their understanding of training, improve their relationship and handling skills, and decrease the chances of the animal ever needing a new home or remdial work later. I want to set up the owner/animal team for success both at home and in trials!
